Dev Deepawali, celebrated on Kartik Purnima, marks the gods' descent to Varanasi's sacred ghats, where over a million diyas illuminate the Ganges in a celestial spectacle of aartis, lasers, and fireworks. This 2026 edition (Nov 23-25 peak) transforms 84 ghats into a river of light, blending spirituality, culture, and raw energy—perfect for immersive escapes at NILAY House.

Festival Essence

The evening muhurat sees synchronized diya lighting from Assi to Rajghat, private boat cruises for front-row views of Deep Daan, and vibrant performances honoring Shiva's triumph. Unlike regular Diwali, it celebrates life's eternal cycle amid Varanasi's timeless ghats.

3-Day Dev Diwali Itinerary (Nov 23 - Nov 25, 2026)

Day 1: Arrival & Mystic Lanes
Seamless airport/station transfer to Nilay House. Evening heritage walk through labyrinthine galis to Dashashwamedh Ghat—inhale incense as brass lamps ignite the iconic Ganga Aarti, a symphony of chants and fire. Savor thandai; overnight riverside repose.

• Arrive at Varanasi (VNS) airport/station. Check-in.

• Evening walk through the narrow lanes (Galies) of Old Varanasi.

• Witness a regular Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.

• Overnight stay near the ghats.

 

Day 2: Festival Zenith
Dawn Subah-e-Banaras at Assi Ghat: melodic aartis and sunrise hues. Afternoon Banarasi bazaar quest for silks and perfumes. Evening pinnacle: Priority private boat (4 PM) drifts you past illuminated ghats—capture photogenic Deep Daan, laser symphonies at Chet Singh, and crackling fireworks in divine splendor.

• Morning: Early visit to Assi Ghat for Subah-e-Banaras (morning music and Aarti).

• Afternoon: Shopping in the Markets of Banaras.

• Evening : a pre-booked boat for 5 PM to witness the illumination of the ghats from the river. Watch the Dev Diwali celebrations on various Ghats, get a photoshoot done and experience the laser & the firecracker show.

 

Day 3: Sacred Sendoff
Pilgrimage to Sankat Mochan Hanuman and BHU's New Kashi Vishwanath—serene darshans amid devotional fervor. Indulge last-minute silk shopping. Effortless departure.

• Visit Sankat Mochan Temple and BHU (New Kashi Vishwanath Temple).

• Last-minute shopping for Banarasi silk.

• Departure from Varanasi.
